“It is with a very heavy heart that we have made the decision to say goodbye and close our doors,” said Jocelyn Rose, Managing Director of QPP Media.
“The closure of the Tamworth Print Site, current economic climate and cessation of several other local papers in the region has led to this decision.
“We would like to thank everyone who has worked with us and supported us. Our staff, current and former, have done an amazing job keeping the community informed, telling local stories of courage, heroism, love and loss. You are amazing, we couldn’t have done any of this without you.
“Our business partners, advertisers, and subscribers, who have stood by us through thick and thin, we owe a great debt and our sincere gratitude.
“The local contributors have been invaluable, giving so much of their time and energy to supply reports, photographs and material to us.
“Our readers and the local community have backed us for the last 100, nearly 101, years. What an amazing accomplishment. We are so grateful that you welcomed us into your lives and homes, sharing your stories, precious moments and memories.
It has been our pleasure and honour to serve you,” Jocelyn concluded.
