Quirindi Polocrosse Club held their annual carnival on the weekend of May 10 and 11. The large carnival commenced with 70 teams coming to the Quirindi Racecourse travelling from as far as Tansey in Queensland and a team flying in from New Zealand to play in the A Grade Men’s competition.
Play commenced at 7.30am on Saturday morning with the local Quirindi teams faring well in Saturday’s results. Entertainment, dinner and a lot of fun was had on Saturday night at the dining and bar area.
Overnight a few millimetres of much needed rain fell on the fields, unfortunately making them too slippery and sticky to continue with play on Sunday, this was disappointing to all however safety of horses and riders must come first.
Quirindi Club is looking forward to the remainder of the polocrosse season, next travelling to the NSW Club Championships hosted by Bunnan Club at Muswellbrook on the June long weekend.
